Today, on 7 February, Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc had a meeting with H.E. Bartłomiej Zdaniuk, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Moldova. The discussions were focused on the enhancing of bilateral relations in the fields of education, culture and research.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Monica Babuc expressed thanks to Poland for supporting Republic of Moldova in the Eastern Partnership, especially in the field of inter-university collaboration, academic mobility, but also in the development of cultural infrastructure. The official stressed the considerable contribution of the Poland Embassy in the construction of the monuments dedicated to Pope John Paul II and Jozef Pilsudski, in the endowment of the Center for Polish Language and Culture, which works since 2005 at the Moldovan State University, as well as in the process of continuing training of managerial staff in education. In context, we mention that between 27 November and 2 December 2017, approx. 200 school managers were instructed in a project supported by the Center for the Development of Polish Education Abroad.
At the same time, officials discussed about the strengthening cooperation within the ,,Creative Europe” Program, the perspectives for developing cinematography by promotion the Polish film in the Republic of Moldova and vice versa, the visual arts, as well as the modernization of the general education.
H.E. Bartłomiej Zdaniuk expressed His availability to intensify bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, culture and research, so that the Moldovan citizens continue to benefit from the academic mobility programs offered by Poland (Visegrad Scholarship Fund, scholarships Program for young researchers, scholarships of the Moldovan-Polish school ,,History - Politics – Culture”, Lane Kirkland Scholarship Program, etc.), but also from Poland's experience in restoring national heritage monuments. In this regard, the official mentioned the possibility to rehabilitate Polish funerary monuments on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, including his intention to visit the Ohanowicz Mansion from Mindic, Drochia.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to exchange information about the quality assurance, the improvement of university management according with the European standards, for implementing joint scientific projects, as well as to facilitate the participation of artists and artistic groups in the cultural events of the two states.
